King County and Seattle are developing a Resuscitation Academy. This Academy which is patterned after the National Fire Academy will allow EMS managers, EMS directors, EMS medical directors, and dispatch directors to attend a 3-5 day fellowship program in Seattle and King County. The fellowship will also consist of written assignments preceding and following the on-site program. The curriculum will be customized to the needs of the student and we anticipate separate tracts in EMS system administration, EMS medical direction, EMT training, paramedic training, dispatch training. The fellowship is still in the planning stage and a start date has not yet been announced. Plans are to offer 4 fellowship programs per year.
